End of Warzone 2100 Support
As Pumpkin Studios we shipped Warzone 2100 in March 1999. Between April 1999 and December 1999 we released 10 upgrades that greatly expanded the Warzone 2100 experience. These included build queuing, new units, structures, weapons, and cyborgs that have added lots of new options and strategies. We also improved the way that the skirmish game played, and even allowed players to alter the difficulty level for each skirmish player.
Today we remain very proud of what we achieved with Warzone 2100. When we shipped Warzone 2100 we received thousands of great suggestions from Warzone 2100 players around the world. We incorporated as many of these suggestions as possible in the upgrades.
Upgrade 1.10 was the last official upgrade from Pumpkin Studios. But that didnt mean that Warzone 2100 stagnated and died. As we ended our direct support, a new group of highly talented and creative game designers and programmers were already providing new additions to Warzone 2100.
Earlier this year, with agreement from Eidos, we released the source code for Warzone 2100. This allowed anyone with access to the code to create great new additions to the game. Take a look at strategyplanet.com/warzone2100 for the latest updates.
