The Land Rover �Defender� is often used by Special Forces as a mobile firebase. This long-wheelbase, all terrain, weapons platform is capable of supporting a wide variety of weapons such as the Mk19 Grenade launcher and the .50 heavy machine gun.

The Arjun has been plagued with technical problems with the fire control system and engine overheating problems in desert conditions as well as poor operational mobility, due to its excessive weight and width.
