General Tips
- Use teamwork to defeat the enemy. Set up crossfires and be prepared to give covering fire to another soldier.
- Moving and firing decreases your accuracy. Heavy weapons and sniper rifles are highly inaccurate when fired on the move.
- Kneeling and lying prone improves your accuracy and recoil. It also makes you a smaller target.
- Use the medical kit to heal MIA soldiers.
- Anti-tank weapons are needed to destroy enemy armor. Use these weapons wisely.
- Attacking main battle tanks head-on is suicide. Always try to outflank armored vehicles and hit their weaker rear armor.
- If you need to take out an enemy sentry quietly, use silenced weapons or the combat knife.
- Smoke grenades can create cover for an advancing squad, but they also attract enemy fire. Smoke grenades are especially effective against tanks.
- Many weapons have different firing modes. For maximum combat effectiveness learn each weapon's strengths and weaknesses.
- When using automatic weapons, fire in short, controlled bursts to reduce recoil and increase your accuracy.
- Position your team to give maximum covering fire. This could mean the difference between success and failure.
- If you find yourself running low on ammo, try searching captured enemy positions for weapons and ammo.
- The Order cursor is a useful way to move your squad in to position quickly.
- Use Aim Mode to improve your accuracy.
- Crawl through minefields to avoid detonating the mines.
- Delayed orders are a useful way to set up your squad before assaulting enemy positions.
- Leaning around cover presents a smaller target to the enemy. You can fire weapons, throw grenades and issue orders while leaning.
- You can 'cook' a grenade by holding the fire button. Release the fire button to throw the cooked grenade. (PS2)
- You can 'cook' a grenade by pulling and holding the fire trigger. Release the trigger to throw the cooked grenade. (XBOX)
- Wounded soldiers can call for first aid using the Orders.
- Keep your soldiers alive. If a soldier dies, you will fail the mission.
- Use flashbang grenades to stun the enemy. Flashbangs are especially useful when rescuing hostages.
- Claymores are useful to protect your rear. By changing their settings in the Inventory, you can use them as proximity mines or remotely detonate them using the Claymore Detonator.
- Anti-tank mines are useful for ambushing enemy armor, but remember that the mine arms itself after a couple of seconds and will explode if anything gets near to it.
- An open window offers a quick route into a room allowing your soldiers to vault in rather than using the door.
- Vehicles can be used to move your team around quickly and are usually equipped with powerful weapons. By using the Orders you can command team members to mount a vehicle.
- Use smoke grenades to block the enemy's line of sight. Crawl through the smoke to avoid being hit by enemies firing wildly into it.
- Medals are awarded for scoring a high number of kills.
